Fitness: Exercise, Nutrition & Relaxation

Physical fitness comprises two related concepts: general fitness (a state of health and well-being), and specific fitness (a task-oriented definition based on the ability to perform specific aspects of sports or occupations). Physical fitness is generally achieved through correct nutrition, exercise, and enough rest.

In previous years, fitness was commonly defined as the capacity to carry out the day’s activities without undue fatigue. However, as automation increased leisure time, changes in lifestyles following the industrial revolution rendered this definition insufficient. These days, physical fitness is considered a measure of the body’s ability to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities, to be healthy, to resist hypokinetic diseases, and to meet emergency situations.

Whether you want to lose weight, sculpt your body, increase fitness and strength, increase your flexibility, optimize your

Nutrition:

There are six major classes of nutrients: carbohydrates, fats, minerals, protein, vitamins, and water. These nutrient classes can be categorized as either macronutrients (needed in relatively large amounts) or micronutrients (needed in smaller quantities). The macronutrients include carbohydrates (including fiber), fats, protein, and water. The micronutrients are minerals and vitamins.

Nutritional consultancy is offer by our personal trainers.  Advice Nutrition is  one of the keys of training  and developing optimum performance.  Understanding what and when to eat is going to mean the difference between someone trying to lose weight or someone wanting to put quality muscle on. Our trainers will be able to advise on the wrongs and rights of healthy eating so that the body can perform at its optimum when the time calls for it.

Relaxation:

ANNU Teachers  offer a variety of different relaxation techniques can help you bring your nervous system back into balance by producing the relaxation response.  The relaxation response is an  active process that leaves the body relaxed, calm, and focused.  With regular practice, progressive muscle relaxation gives you an intimate familiarity with what tension—as well as complete relaxation—feels like in different parts of the body. This awareness helps you spot and counteract the first signs of the muscular tension that accompanies stress. And as your body relaxes, so will your mind. You can combine deep breathing with progressive muscle relaxation for an additional level of stress relief.
